We go by the concept “By Survivors for Survivors”. We want to encourage women to stand up in the fight against cancer by arming ourselves with the knowledge to prevent and find cancer early. We are survivors and know of the hardship faced by women in our journey with cancer We want to empower Malaysian women with cancer to support those who need help and to affirm that there is life despite a diagnosis of cancer

For newly diagnosed survivors via Pink Unity members giving moral support and interact with experienced members who had gone through similar journeys.

For members via visits, phone calls and sharing sessions

People living with cancer often benefit from the practical help and advice they receive from others who have lived through similar situations. “Peer support” is a term that are referred to advice and help received from fellow patients or people without medical training. Peer support can help patients and survivors feel supported by a community

Activities

Help Desk set up by NCSM in 2011 will be replaced by GPS – Guided Patient Support Program where volunteers are trained to support new patients. On-going training in 2023.

Pink Blossom sharing programme was started on 18 April 2015 to create an environment of sharing for cancer survivors.  Pink Blossom is a self space to share your personal thoughts, feelings and challenges for women with all types of cancer. Participants share and listen to each other and learn from each other’s experiences.

INNER STRENGTH activities focus on the psychological pressures and emotions experienced by cancer survivors.

Activities help to rebuild self-confidence that may have been eroded with the physical changes experienced.

NETWORKING between members and with other support groups through outreach programs and participation in various bonding and feel-good activities.

  • Festive get-togethers to strengthen bonds between members.
  • Monthly brisk walk “Walk with Pink Unity” to promote a healthy lifestyle and improve the quality of life.
  • Annual “Relay for Life” event organized by NCSM which gathers survivors from all over the country.
  • Outreach programs to other support groups and targeted communities.

KNOWLEDGE empowerment through numerous talks and workshops organized for survivors to acquire new skills for improvement in quality of life

Talks and workshops on topics like mental health, stress management, laughter therapy and yoga

  • Beading class
  • Arts and crafts class

Every Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 1.00pm.
