Who is a Navigator

Patient navigators are community health volunteers positioned at hospitals and health facilities, committed to helping patients navigate and overcome various barriers faced throughout their cancer treatment. Our trained Navigators come from a diverse range of backgrounds as follows:

  • Professionals (e.g., registered nurse, social worker).​
  • Lay person (caregivers or community members with patient navigation training).​
  • Peer (e.g., survivors who have experience living with a particular condition).

Our cancer information service is not a substitute for a professional medical consultation. 
We encourage our callers to seek medical opinions from their doctor and/or health professionals.
