Our in-house specialist treats a range of mental health problems including anxiety disorder, depression, personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and neurodevelopmental disorder. We aim to go beyond the management of surface concerns to address our patients’ core issues by providing comprehensive, evidence-based therapy and assessment.

Personal Summary
Kah Yee works closely with cancer patients and their caregivers, by providing essential support and improving quality of life throughout their challenging journeys from coping with the initial diagnosis to navigating the complexities of treatment, survivorship, or end-of-life care. She has collaborated with multidisciplinary psychosocial teams, including counsellors, play therapists, dietitians, and peer support groups to provide holistic care that addresses the multifaceted aspects of their lives. She also has extensive experience working with families, couples, adults and elderly patients.
She takes on a leadership role by overseeing the day-to-day operations, proposing new mental health programs or services and coordinating the activities within the clinical psychology sub department. She has also developed a psychosocial support series booklet titled “Relaxation Techniques – Coping with Cancer Treatment” that provides evidence-based strategies and practical tips to cancer patients and caregivers. She is also actively engaged in outreach programs by providing psychological services and creating awareness among public, cancer patients and caregivers. She regularly speaks at workshops and has been invited for media engagement with MyHealth Media on topics pertaining to cancer and mental health.
She is also attached with My Psychology and Seed Connections as an associate clinical psychologist to help individuals overcome a wide range of mental health challenges.

Personal Summary
Jefferson has multiple clinical experiences among persons affected by cancer, including patients, survivors, as well as caregivers. His passion emerged from his past personal experiences in cancer caregiving; therefore, he understands the need for the enhancement of psychological well-being and health-related quality of life among these individuals. He enthusiastically advocates for the importance of psychological care and providing support throughout the journey living with cancer.
Jefferson has worked closely with individuals across age groups, particularly among adults and elderly. He plays an essential role in the multidisciplinary team in psychosocial cancer care which involves counsellors, play therapist, dietitians, patient navigators, and peer support groups. His impact can also be seen through various community outreach programmes and research works to better create awareness on cancer care.
In addition, Jefferson is also a host in his self-established podcast, The Young Psychologist podcast. Apart from cancer-related psychological care, he also advocates for the importance in normalising conversations around general mental health and removing barriers in psychological care.

Personal Summary
Eunice works closely with cancer patients and their caregivers by delivering psychotherapy sessions. Their emotional disturbances such as stress, depression, anxiousness, and worry will be addressed during the sessions. Other than that, Eunice also provides workshops and webinars for cancer patients and their caregiver, including topics like sleeping issues, grief, and emotions which are related to mental health. Eunice works and collaborates with counselor, dietitian, play therapist, and peer support group members in NCSM to serve the patients better.
Eunice also provides individual and group psychotherapy, and psychological assessments to a wide age range of individuals – inclusive of adults, elderly, couples, and families. These individuals suffered from mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, personality disorders, stress-related issues, trauma-related issues, anxiety, and eating disorders. She is now attached with SEED Connections as a clinical psychologist. Eunice hopes to provide a safe space for her clients to express their emotions, learn the meaning of their behaviors, and rewrite their life stories.

Personal Summary
Charlyn’s first working experience with cancer patients and caregivers was when she volunteered with the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Melaka) in 2016 after completing her degree in Psychology. She facilitated the Weekly Wonder Programme, which is a programme designed to help children cope during their cancer journey, by planning and implementing educational activities and games for them as they are unable to attend school during treatment. Apart from conducting the activities and providing emotional support at the centre, the service was also extended to the children and their caregivers in the ward of Hospital Melaka. Fast forward to the year 2020 with a background in Clinical Psychology in hand, Charlyn returned to serve for NCSM as a Sessional Clinical Psychologist, working together with a multidisciplinary team, which comprises counsellors, play therapists, dietitians, and peer support groups. Besides providing psychological services and therapy to cancer patients and their caregivers, she also provides cancer and mental health awareness to the general public via workshops and NCSM’s social channels. Charlyn is also part of NCSM’s Guided Patient Support (GPS) programme as a patient navigator at Hospital Selayang, which aims to navigate patients through their cancer journey by removing barriers and improving access to integrated care.
Charlyn also had the opportunity to work with clients from various populations such as schools, refugee clinic, private centres, hospital as well as corporate during her training and work experience as a Clinical Psychologist. At present, she is also an associate with Turning Point Integrated Wellness.

Personal Summary
Liza works with individuals who struggles with grief and traumatic events by providing a holistic approach, targeting different facets of their life. She recognizes the importance of multi-disciplinary approach to improve the quality of life for patients and their caregivers. Her clinical experience has allowed her to work with patients with wide range of background from children to the elderly. She priorities person-centered approach, ensuring that patients and their caregivers needs are prioritized throughout their journey.
Aside from her clinical work, Liza also delivers lectures at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar while also working at the UTAR Community Counselling Centre. She is also involved in mental-health workshops around Ipoh, where she delivers talks as part of the mental awareness initiatives to contribute to the local community.
