Earthagain organized Earth Week 2012 in conjunction with Earth Day to raise awareness among the public concerning matters regarding Mother Nature and the environment. The event took place from April 16 – April 22, 2012 at SpaceU8 Mall, the first  eco mall in the country. Throughout the week, many fun activities such as eco film shows, Green Activities, Green Walk, performances and games took place as part of the campaign. NCSM had opened a booth to create awareness to the participants and the public on cancer.

Together, let’s spread the word and empower women in the fight against cervical cancer. Show your support by participating in the Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC) Go-Kart Race by the National Cancer Society Malaysia(NCSM).

The talk on Colorectal Cancer titled ‘Caught Early, It Is Often Curable’ which took place last Saturday at RWC was indeed enlightening for all who attended. It started off with a talk by Dr. Anand Bhupalan, a Gastroenterologist who shared with us all about Colorectal Cancer, the risk factors, symptoms, detection methods and preventions. This was followed by a nutrition talk by Mr. Peter Terence and a delightful sharing session with Mr. A. Skelchy. At the end of the talk, all participants were equipped with all details pertaining this disease. Tune in next month for a talk on Nasopharyngeal Cancer.

Our heartiest congratulations to Dato’ Zuraidah Atan who has been appointed as the President of the newly launched Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS),  officiated yesterday (21 March) by our   Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. YSS is aimed at recruiting Malaysian students for volunteerism and equipping them with universal values so that they could be more sensitive and     aware of the needs of the community and contribute in a more meaningful way.
